Zoe Feldman on her collaboration with Mitzi Lighting

Putting a fresh twist on classic design principles, interior designer Zoe Feldman draws inspiration from art, fashion, film, and architectural influences to create her signature style. Working out of two studios – one in the historic neighborhood of Georgetown, Washington, D.C. and the other in New York City, Zoe artfully blends clean, mid-century lines with charming details like scalloped edges and softly rounded forms. She’s known for her distinctive use of color in her classic-meets-modern designs, including in her Mitzi Tastemaker collection, Zoe Feldman x Mitzi

Discover Zoe’s thoughts on each design from her Mitzi collection below, as well as how to incorporate them into your own spaces.

This collection merges a lighthearted design sensibility with whimsical silhouettes, bold colors, and charming details while maintaining a balance of classicism. We temper the insanely sophisticated with playful moments of daring. But above all, our designs support how clients actually live when no one is watching.

Feminine and Art Deco-inspired, Anne combines a slightly occluded glass shade and aged brass frame for a timeless feel. Light appears warm and soft in keeping with its vintage character.

Aston nods to the clean, modern lines of mid-century furnishings. The saucer-shaped shades punctuate the sleekly delicate frame, while a blue finish brings it into the 21st century.

Marrying minimalist design principles and a sense of playfulness, Batya focuses on color blocking to strike a pleasing balance.

Cece's floral-inspired lantern will flood your living spaces with soft, ambient light.

Corinne captures an organic crackled texture inside a bold form, creating a juxtaposition of edginess and whimsy. A narrow linen shade introduces a sense of freshness.

The Davida pendant takes a heritage silhouette and gives it an update with contemporary materiality.

A classic shape in a classic color transcends eras, allowing Georgann to lend an unpretentious formality that feels at home in a laid-back study or a dining room—as well as a traditional or contemporary space.

Influenced by midcentury design, Jojo features a dome-shaped shade with decorative perforations that allow light to escape.

Narrow, petal-like vents skim the edges of Liba, contributing feminine flair to a contemporary metal shade. Brass accents and a soft pink color add warmth.

Inspired by a mobile, Sia nods to designs of the 1950s and 60s with its symmetry and bold style. Available as a chandelier or wall sconce, it contrasts the hard and soft elements of bold lines and large Clear Glass orbs.

Sweeping brush strokes in a green-blue tone bring movement to the Tenley table lamp, which is grounded by large piping accents and a substantial linen shade.

Graceful gooseneck arms curve like stems in support of the beautiful botanical forms of Yael. Each large dome shade features a scalloped edge. Small decorative spheres adorn the fixture like beads, complementing the sculptural linework of this family.
