Inside Mandy Cheng's Restored Los Angeles Craftsman Home

In Los Angeles, a neglected 1920s Craftsman home sat vacant, with the exception of a multi-foot beehive. That is, until designer and Mitzi Tastemaker Mandy Cheng and her husband, architect Rory Reynolds, saw past its crumbling siding and overgrown yard, trusting that they could turn it into their forever home. While maintaining the original charm, the couple injected their unique perspective into every room, capturing Architectural Digest's, opens in a new tab attention.

Kitchen

Mandy used her kitchen to show potential clients that rules are meant to be broken. Mismatched woods bring a richness to the space. The natural jute shade of the pendants over the island complements the warmth and texture of the original wood beams.

Bedroom

Inspired by the colors of New Orleans, the primary bedroom’s golden walls create a cozy atmosphere. Opting for mismatched vintage desks as end tables, mounting matching wall sconces above the headboard brought balance to the eclectic space.
