New York–based designer Hilary Matt brings her signature blend of bold form and effortless livability to her debut Mitzi Tastemakers collection. Known for interiors that balance post-modern edge with relaxed minimalism, Matt creates spaces grounded in texture, proportion, and a sense of comfort.
“With this lighting collection, I set out to create statement pieces that play with scale and texture—fixtures that feel both sophisticated and playful. Throughout the collection, circular and freeform organic shapes repeat in tactile, expressive materials like chiseled wood, frosted glass, and nubby textiles. The result is a series of sculptural silhouettes that I believe are currently missing from the market. My goal is to fill that gap for both customers and fellow designers alike.”

The Erin pendant is a celebration of the craftsmanship behind natural basket weave. A beachy vibe with a modern twist, not your average coastal chandelier. This shade is truly a piece of sculpture, and the variation in the weave style disperses the light source in such an interesting way.

The Alexandra floor lamp and pendant was really a celebration of this beautiful ivory nubby textile produced in a sculptural shape whose feminine take on a balloon shade silhouette is equally vintage in feeling as it is modern.

The Davie table lamp is an earthy take on a table lamp that could pass as vintage. It brings a warmth to the collection with an eco paper mix base that, when hit with the light from the bulb, almost glows. The repetition of the circles on the base and with the drum shade felt like a natural fit for the organic materials.

One of our more modern pieces, the Elise pendant has a subtle wood detailing that acts almost as a bracelet or cuff. The way the light glows through the glass almost mimics a natural gemstone, continuing the jewelry thought process.

The Miller drum collection marries a number of different textures within a shape that is incredibly practical for a myriad of spaces. A classic shape with added texture and special accents. Depending on the height of ceilings, we have a flush mount, semi-flush mount, and traditional pendant variation.

With the Nell pendant, we wanted to lean into that storyline of light fixtures as jewelry— specifically with the chain component here. The result is a variation of gold discs interspersed between traditional chain loops— it is a bit modern, a bit glam while still being traditional in silhouette.

With the Pia collection, we wanted to highlight this stunning crackle effect within the smooth ceramic. Available in a variety of shapes, this collection is so versatile, while still bringing artistic details and a feminine curved silhouette.

The Pres wall sconce, as well as the Jones table lamp and wall sconce, were designed to highlight this stunning light beech wood with a chiseled effect, which is my favorite wood texture. I love the organic nature of the design paired in an industrial setting of a light fixture. They are a great way to add a bit of interest to any space.

The Remi chandelier and pendants are another example of celebrating materiality and silhouette without overcomplicating the design. It is a simple pendant with a Parisian touch— we paired a visually stunning orb pendant and instead of having the cord be an afterthought, we wanted to highlight it with a silk sleeve. The effect is a piece of artwork hanging from your ceiling.

The Sam floor and table lamps are modern lamps with a textural twist and all about proportion. I wanted these to be an interesting vertical design that allowed them to fit in more narrow spaces.
